A shooting outside a high school in western Turkey has left 11 people injured, including two in critical condition. Police detained a 15-year-old male suspect following the incident in Manisa province.
Eleven Students Injured in Shooting Outside Turkish High School
Eleven people were injured in a shooting outside the İnci Üzmez Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Turgutlu, in Turkey’s western Manisa province, on Tuesday morning.
According to reports, the victims were students at the school. Two of those injured were in critical condition after a gunman opened fire before fleeing the area.

Suspect and Family Members Detained
Turkey’s Justice Minister Akın Gürlek said that the suspect’s mother, father and grandfather were also detained as part of the investigation. The grandfather was reportedly the owner of the weapon involved in the incident.
Under Turkish law, the teenage suspect must appear before a court before an official arrest can take place.

CCTV Footage Shows Suspect Carrying a Weapon
Security camera footage reportedly showed a person believed to be the suspect walking through empty streets while carrying and checking a shotgun.
Additional footage appeared to show the individual running away from the scene with the weapon still in hand.
